SOMEDAY SOMEWAY/YOU'RE MY FAVORITE WASTE OF TIME - Marshall Crenshaw

In my opinion, one of the best two-sided singles of all time.  Pure pop genius (words I don't toss around lightly.)
"Someday Someway" was written by Marshall Crenshaw and first recorded (stiffly) by Robert Gordon, who had a small hit of his own with it (peaked at US#76 on 7/18/81).  Marshall Crenshaw's own version came out a year later and was the leadoff single from his debut album, and was included in the movie "Night Shift".  "Someday Someway" was his only charted single.  "You're My Favorite Waste Of Time" was a small US hit for Bette Midler (peaked at US#78 on 11/5/83) and a much bigger UK hit for Owen Paul (peaked at UK#3 on 7/12/86).  To me, both songs should be studied as a Songwriting 101 class.
