Rhino Records has some truly essential compilations, including Have A Nice Day: Super Hits Of The '70s (Vols. 1-25), Just Can't Get Enough: New Wave Hits Of The '80s (Vols. 1-15), Didn't It Blow Your Mind: Soul Hits Of The '70s (Vols. 1-20), The Disco Years (Vols. 1-7), In Yo' Face: The History Of Funk (Vols. 1-5), and the inexplicably short-lived Radio Daze: Pop Hits Of The '80s (Vols. 1-5). Nearly all of the discs in these series are outstanding, both in track selection and sound quality. These are all genre-defining compilations, and are worth every dime. Rather than rehash these, though, I present a collection of promotional samplers put out by Rhino to retailers.

The first and last tracks are deliberately mislabeled, and are replaced by a hilarious message from Rhino to get you to buy the series. Superb!

Note that some of the songs appear here in different versions than on the actual commercial compilations. For example, this sampler features the full LP version of "I Ran", while the commercial Just Can't Get Enough disc has the 7" version. Neato.
