In 1992, the German division of Columbia Records released a 2-CD set called "Pop & Wave, Vol. 1", an extraordinary collection of 1980s new wave tracks. Great track selection, terrific sound quality, but liner notes in German. (!)
Columbia released subsequent volumes in 1992 (Vols. 1, 2, Rock & Wave Vol. 1), 1993 (Vols. 3, 4), 1994 (Vol. 5), 1995 (Best Of Pop & Wave - the 12" mixes), 1996 (Vol. 6), 1997 (Vol. 7), and 1999 (Vol. 8).
